What is Adobe Express?
Hi there. Today, I’d like to introduce Adobe Express.
Similar to Canva, Adobe Express is a browser base design tool that allows you to create professional-quality graphic designs and videos.
You can use Adobe Express without limitations if you have any Adobe CC (Creative Cloud) plan. Surprisingly, many people are unaware of this, and some may not even know about Adobe Express itself.
Even if you have a standalone subscription to Photoshop or Illustrator, you can use Adobe Express without restrictions, so I highly encourage you to make the most of it.

As a side note, if Adobe Express were more prominently mentioned in the standalone subscription menu, it could help increase awareness and contribute, at least to some extent, to conversions…
As shown in the image below, information about Adobe Express is written in small text. It’s hard to notice this way.

As mentioned earlier, Adobe Express is a web application provided by Adobe for creating graphic designs and editing videos.
This tool makes it easy for anyone, even beginners, to create graphic designs by doing things like removing photo backgrounds, animating text, or adding decorations. Since it’s so intuitive, it’s relatively easy to use with low learning effort.
A wide variety of design templates are available, catering to social media posts, flyers, posters, restaurant menus, and more.
The application can be operated and edited through a desktop browser or a smartphone app.
A free plan is also available, and you can start using it immediately by creating an Adobe account.
In April 2022, the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education announced the adoption of Adobe Express in all Tokyo metropolitan schools, which attracted significant attention.
What Adobe Express Can Do
A free plan is available, so it’s worth giving it a try to see how it works.
- Access thousands of templates, even on the free plan
- Use a variety of photo resources
- Easily apply effects, filters, and textures
- Remove backgrounds from photos (available on the free plan)
- Add design elements like icons and decorative materials
- Quickly resize designs to fit different purposes
- Create videos with templates for various aspect ratios
- Schedule posts for social media
- Collaborate with others for editing
Simple Operation Example
I’ve created a short video showing how to edit a poster using a template, so feel free to check it out.
You can also see the background removal feature, which is available even in the free plan.
Adobe Express also comes with video editing features, but in terms of intuitive usability, Canva feels slightly easier to use. Both Adobe Express and Canva offers free plan, and offer a wide range of features, so I recommend trying both and choosing the one that suits you best.
Pricing
Adobe Express is free to use, but if you have any Adobe CC plan, you can access all paid features without restrictions.
Many people around me didn’t know this, so if you’re one of them, I highly recommend giving it a try.
