Hi there. In this article, I’ll introduce Base, an e-commerce platform that allows you to quickly create an online shop without any costs. This article is written by me, Kota Shimizu who working as a web director.

Base is an online shop building and managing platform provided by Japan-based BASE, Inc.
It has gained popularity for its zero initial and monthly fees, as well as its ease of use, making it accessible even to those without web development knowledge.
In fact, I know many people around me who manage their own Base shops without any prior web knowledge.
Additionally, I often receive requests to help set up Base shops, but once the shop is created, my clients handle the management and operation themselves.
While the basic features for running an online shop are available right from the start, you can enhance your store by adding additional functionality by “Apps.”

Pricing
BASE offers two plans.
One is “Standard Plan” that offers no monthly fees, and the other one is “Growth Plan” that requires a monthly fee but comes with reduced transaction fees.

It appears that the Growth Plan becomes more cost-effective for businesses with a monthly sales revenue exceeding ¥170,000.

Standard Plan has no running costs, so no fees are incurred until you make a sale. Additionally, you can switch plans at any time, so it’s a good idea to start with Standard Plan unless there’s a specific reason not to.
